The Solarte Ecological Reserve is a 150-acre preserve and agro-forestry project located on the Island of Solarte, 15 minutes by boat from the main Island of Colon, in the Archipelago of Bocas del Toro, Panama. The Institute is in the process of preparing a new management plan for the reserve, as well as plans for one additional area located on the main land. Currently, the reserve provides two-full time jobs to local residents. The project on the main land provide two full-time jobs to local residents, with a third position slated for the summer of 2002.

In addition to our graduate studies program, several internship and volunteer opportunities will be available as the Institute begins to implement these plans.
